Tableau has announced several changes to its certification programs. Here’s a summary of what has changed.
Changes to Tableau Certification program
Three certifications retired
The following three certifications are retired and will not be available again.
- Tableau Desktop Certified Professional
- Tableau Server Certified Professional
- Tableau Desktop Certified Associate
New Tableau certification added
Tableau has added a new certification – Tableau Certified Data Analyst. The test is currently in Beta. The new exam will have 70 questions – 59 knowledge-based items, 1 Hands-on lab with 11 items.
If you take the exam during the beta testing period, you will receive your results in 10-12 weeks.
Pearson VUE is the new test provider
Tableau has started using Pearson VUE testing centers and Pearson VUE’s online platform for its testing. Tableau was previously using LES for its testing.
Changes to Tableau Desktop Specialist & Tableau Server Certified Associate exams
For the Tableau Desktop Specialist & Tableau Server Certified Associate exams, you will not have access to Tableau products and the internet. This means that you cannot Google answers to questions like in the past.
